Health and Safety Policy

1. General Statement

It is the policy of Hager UK to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of its employees and for other persons who may be affected by our activities. Hager UK will take steps to ensure that our statutory duties are met at all times.

2. Organisation Responsibilities

Hager UK will ensure that:

It is the duty of management to ensure that all processes and systems of work are designed to take account of health and safety.

A member of the senior management maintains specific responsibilities for health & safety.

Competent people will be appointed to assist us in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate, specialists from outside the organisation.

All employees are consulted on matters relating to health, safety and welfare.

Adequate facilities and arrangements will be maintained to enable employees and their representatives to raise issues of health and safety.

Each employee will be given such information, instruction and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of work activities.

Health and safety organisation and arrangements are brought to the attention of employees and are monitored and reviewed to ensure that they are effective. Details of the organisation and arrangements are set out in separate documents. H:\Health & Safety\Policy.

3. Employees Responsibilities

Employees must ensure that they:

Cooperate with management to enable all statutory duties to be complied with.

Take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety, and for the safety of others who may be affected by his or her acts or omissions.

Familiarise themselves with the health and safety arrangements that apply to them and their work functions.

4. Objectives and commitment to continual improvement

Hager UK is committed to enhancing its health and safety management system through the proactive identification and implementation of improvement opportunities, through the following initiatives:

Health and safety auditing
Review of risk assessments and their effectiveness
Analysis of incidents
